Real Writers #41

WINTER DAWN

Morning,
and the heavy clouds of smoke
furl upwards
into the lightening air.

Warming,
and golden beams of sunlight
stain the clouds
and rim the spreading smoke.

Baring
still-dark veins against the sky,
stands the oak,
bearing itself erect.

It's lovely, isn't it? I got to watch it all out of train window this morning.

I see the smoke stack effect from my school every morning, too! Across the East River.
