Can you spell "S-C-A-R-Y????
I'm watching NCIS (instead of finishing the English curriculum I told the boss he'd get tomorrow!), and a man has been shot, and almost killed, because he thought he was receiving e-mails, and love, from a woman whose pictures he had been sent, whom he had been e-mailing for months, whom he thought loved him, and whom he thought had invited him to her home to play rape games. According to her profile, they both enjoyed rape fantasies, which is why he showed up at her house to play. When he got there though, and began the game, she shot him, twice, almost killing him. Turns out her ID was hacked when she joined a website for people looking for sex, and all the e-mails and everything this guy was receiving was from the hacker, not her. And they almost arrested her for attempted murder, even though she didn't know him from Adam!
OMG!! *looking around me in horror* What a world!!!
So, turns out the "victim" set the woman up, and he had his accomplice almost got away with it. He DID go there to rape her - he's a serial rapist -- because his accomplice, the woman claiming to be his sister, was the one who sent the e-mails in the woman's name, so he could use them as his alibi when she cried rape. Fortunately for her, her husbby the marine had made sure she knew how to defend herself, and how to shoot a gun!
NCIS is my favourite of all those related crime dramas. And yes... although the plots at times may "seem" far fetched, things like that happen all too often. There's always a grain of truth behind what's depicted on the show.
More than a few men have set up their exes (wives, GFs, etc.) by posting rape fantasy want ads on Craig's List and the like. There is so much hate, misogyny, desire for revenge, and self-important egoism in this world!
That must have been one of the goriest episodes of NCIS then. We followed that series for ages when they were showing reruns of it from Monday - Friday from the very beginning. It is a terrific series.
Soon as the show is done, I'll tell you how complicated and twisted the case was, and how horrid people can be!
ReplyDeleteI saw that episode!
