K's FIAF #89

HEIRLOOM

My maternal great-grandmother had that very piece in "the big house".  The effect that the sight is causing is going to cost me this prize, if I lose my cool.  No one must know who I am!  This plan will not work if I am discovered!

I inhale slowly, deeply.  The lawyer begins to speak.

Excellent! I love it! I was going to do this one but I was going to make it a dark one so I begged off. Glad I did, its a beautiful picture to do that.

The first sentence is true, except that she had a piece LIKE it in "the big house", which is what they actually called it!

That's kewl! It's awesome to grab some real life for these isn't it? ;)

Kae B said...

Yes, it is! That's why I picked this picture...it reminded me both of the one in my maternal great-grandma's house, AND the one in my paternal grandma's front hall!

Thank you..Maybe i will try 1 out of the 99-100. i never knew the purpose of FIAF....
That is interesting!

*smiles @ Diamond* It's just a writing exercise, to allow you to sharpen your story-telling and character drawing skills by forcing you to become a minimalist.

DIAMOND GURL said...

i like that!

I have such a story to tell about my life; that is why it comes out so true; i do like your writing style and your sense
of flexibility......i always saw FIAF and i never knew what it meant..Thanks!

You're welcome! :)

DIAMOND GURL said...

Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is set out to expose the essence, essentials or identity of a subject through eliminating all non-essential forms, features or concepts

i had to look it up for myself..i was going to ask you; but i try not to keep asking questions i can look up, please let me know if i have the word wrong.

DIAMOND GURL said...

Minimalism is a way of eschewing the non-essential in order to focus on what’s truly important, what gives our lives meaning, what gives us joy and value.

Kae B said...

You have the right word! :)

DIAMOND GURL said...

ok, so we write as less as possible and still get our story out with understanding..avoiding a whole lot of writing. That is why we can only write 55 words and if we find we have written too many, we can eliminate!

oh what a challenge!

Kae B said...

Yes...the essence of the story in 55 words. of course, obviously there will be things the reader wants to know the synopsis won't tell, but it must make the reader wonder about them.
