No...I'm saying nobody but you cares to hear about me. Nothing sinister. I blog for me, but these days, I keep the subject matter impersonal, as much as I can...less for other people to bear, you know? :) After all, even though I blog for me, I'm blogging HERE, where other people can see it -- that's why I have contacts, no? So in a sense, I am also blogging for others, and I rather like to think I know how to keep my audience happy. *grins*
Your opinion, Mannu...your reading of what you do isn't everyone else's. Don't make assumptions about what I do based on what you do. Despite the many ways in which we're alike, we're not the same. What if you're wrong, and your "writing for yourself", posted for people to see is really writing for their approbation? If you are really only writing for you, why does any of us need to read it? Does it matter what anyone but you thinks? If not, why share it? What is the impulse that makes you post for contacts, or for network, or for everyone?
All I'm saying is that how writers do what they do is as individual as fingerprints. And the why's are just as individual. How can you demean what I do as an act on the basis of your understanding of the motives for writing? To say what I do is fake because it doesn't meet your standard is insulting, don't you think? Writing that is shared is never merely a private act. You know that. And BECAUSE it is shared, it is NOT merely for yourself that you write.
I have lots of work that I have shared with no one. THAT is for me. I choose it to be that way. But the things I choose to share are for me and the people I choose to share it with. That is the nature of writing.
