Testimonials

Remember these, from Yahoo 360 days?  We and our friends exchanged loving words of support, admiration and affection with each other in a public way, so anyone who came to visit could see how closely bonded we were. Remember how we deplored the fact that Multiply didn't have such a feature? Most of us gave it up without too much of a struggle, but some of us didn't.

Laci, my Indian friend in Canada, has set up a testimonial page on her WordPress site, and so I posted the poem I wrote for her when she won it for being the 5000th visitor on my Kittigory page.  It reminded me that I had saved all my testimonials from 360, as well as the ones written for me here on Multiply on Kittigory, and I almost deleted them.  Don't worry...I've put them with the blogs I have saved from both my pages here.

Why am I telling you about them?  Well, that e-mail I received earlier has been doing a number on me.  The earlier laughter with which I had greeted it has changed...never mind to what, but I have become morose and angry and hopeless.  Reading the lovely things some of you have said about me has helped to lift my spirits immeasurably.  The weight is still there, but I am no longer rubbing my chest to dissipate the hurt and anger -- at least it's bearable now.

Thanks, guys!  I love you all!  *hugs*

I remember the testimonials. They were definitely a nice pick-me-up when you needed it. Have a better day and feel good about you!

It saddens me to see another site to sink below the blogging waters of time. The friends we make are those we huddled with in the lifeboats on our journey to another place.
We WILL get through this. At least most of us will. Some I know have decided to give up blogging completely. For them, those places that kept dying, was their sign that blogging was just not meant to be for them.
Hopefully, I will see you on one of the other sites.

What I will NOT miss are those testicles. I remember them from Orkut and how they swiftly grew into a tool of emotional blackmail ("You're contradicting me? But I wrote you such a lovely testimonial!") and all the other features of a mutual admiration society. Not a feature I've ever missed.

That was not my experience. No one used their words against me, not I against them. The people who wrote about me, and the ones I wrote about , we all felt a connection with each other that was more than mere casual acquaintance.

I'm sorry your bad experiences have soured you, Bill!

You back, you! I have yours still, and it still makes me laugh! :)

The feeling is mutual, Tom! *hugs* I have yours still, too! :)

I tried to repost some of the ones I wrote for others. Not sure you can see them unless I copy and paste the entire post. Let me look. I KNOW you will recognize a few names there.

well, the older I get I am seeing how life changes whether we want it to, or not, and if we are to be successful in our journey through life, we have to learn to roll with the punches. I don't like changes, I don't like saying goodbye, and I sure don't like picking up my belongings when I thought they were mine, and I was "at home" lol

As far as friendship, you're a professional friend. You take it serious and people like you don't come around often. I am going to miss you being so close, even in the middle of the night when I can't sleep, I know I can get up and be a part of a good conversation, or challenge. You're stable, and a rock we can come to...to get away, to turn to, and to exist with as raw as we want to be. Through you, I've met some wonderful new friends that I hope keep on being my friend, somewhere. lol

I appreciate you, the time you spend posting challenges, and stuff for us to connect our interests in, and just a place, like a front porch where we can come, sit down, take a drink and join in. I am not considering this a goodbye...I just wanted to sit on the steps and say.........thank you for being my friend....:)
