That has to be Scotland, but I can't quite work out where.

It is...I don't know where, Maggie!

Argh! It's going to bug me forever. lol.

It's Inverlochy Castle Hotel in the Scottish Highlands.

Thanks. To be fair, there are a lot of castles in Scotland and they can look very similar. ;)

Next time I'm in Great Britain, I intend to visit Scotland!

Bring waterproofs and midge repellent. ;)

Kae B said...

What's midge? Mosquitoes?

Mythical Magpie said...

In Scottish parlance they are wee scunners. Smaller than a mosquito but a hundred times as bloodthirsty. lol.

......... a bit like people really. :D

Mythical Magpie said...

....... hence all the castles ;)

Kae B said...

Hehe!

Well, they didn't build them just because they looked pretty and romantic. It was to keep the neighbours out. lol.

Kae B said...

Oh...I get you now! :))

"Hey. Fred."

"Yeah, Bert?"

"Think that's a real castle?"

"I dunno Bert."

"I think it's made of sugar cubes."

"Why's that Bert?

"I dunno. Hand me another pint, would you?"

Besides, mosquitoes come alone. Midges come in millions.

The following is NOT an official response to this FIAF since I have NOT adhered to the word count. I am therefore posting it here-

The Loch Ness monster raised her head out of the water. " 'Tis a fair wee day," she said. "If only I could go up ashore tae yon castle an' get me a bonny mug o' Scotch. But I cannae." She sighed sorrowfully, roiling the surface.

On the hotel lawn, a tourist nudged another. "Look, Teri, there's the Monster."

"Nonsense," Teri replied, without looking up from her romance. "You've been drinking too much whiskey again, that's all."

Kae B said...

*chuckles @ Bill* Thanks for the chuckle, my friend! It seems that you and Guy are on the same wavelength, drink-wise! :)

And thanks to you too, Kasha!
