Running in all that beach sand really prepares your legs. All Jamaican girls I saw were in absolutely splendid condition. Their win was expected.

hope they didn't lose any straw from their broom.............

I take it you were watching Bolt and friends tonight. lol. It was amazing. All three ran an incredible race.

I haven't seen it as yet, Maggie. I know from following the news on Yahoo, and I saw it on FB. when I finally get to see it later, I'll be screaming all over again! :)

Kae B said...

Huh?

I watched them live, Bolt, Weir and Blake, if I remember rightly. You are in for a treat. Bolt didn't have an easy ride though. He did have to work for it. Fantastic race, and Bolt has such a lovely personality. He was great with the crowd afterwards. Must be that Jamaican thang :))))

I know right? Us Jamaicans have some charisma, eh wot???? LOL!!

I found this to be true even when they were imports that had lived there a while.

One town. I guess you would call it that though it reminded me more of a fishing community ( village ), wanted me to come back to the island once my education was finished and teach them. The people and I had a blast reef fishing. Got a small octopus. Dated the girls. Loved their appearance and accent. One was very beautiful with billowing black hair down to her waist and nearly black skin. Face out of Vogue Magazine. She had to be the result of some unique racial mix. I saw her crossing Doctor's Cave (beach ) towards that hotel that extends out over the sea supported on pillars; where they hold crab races from time to time. I asked her If she would meet with me for a photo shoot. It took me an hour to drive to the designated ( deserted ) location next day. Thought I'd gone to the wrong place or she had put me off until she slowly descended a series of steps leading down from a house constructed of what appeared to be coral blocks. I couldn't see much of it as it was sequestered in dense foliage - reminded me of a tomb.
I wore leather shoes and she wore bare feet. This became significant at the end of the shoot. The white sand beach below her house ended in flat coral pavement extending out to the ocean where it broke up into living coral heads. Very dramatic setting, especially with the ocean breaking against the coral. I wanted a shot of her posed at the end of the pavement. She obliged me and returned to the beach. She gave no sign that she was in pain at all. But she had to be. Blood soaked into the sand around both her feet. The coral pavement had a rough surface and sharp. She knew the shoot was over, refused any help from me, smiled and vanished up the steps. I never saw her again. She was a woman of mystery.
I wonder what would have happened had I returned as a teacher from time to time. What would my life have been like?

Many Jamaicans are, hence our motto, "Out Of Many, One People". :)

Sounds like the inspiration for a story, Steve! :)

Well...I wouldn't be a citizen of the USA. Would it have been a different island before the British left?

Kurt Winston said...

I've got a lot of them.

Kae B said...

I dunno...I was almost 4 when the Brits left, so I don't know anything about their direct governance.

Kae B said...

I know...isn't it interesting how Brits and certain other persons may hold dual citizenship -- in their native land AND in the US -- but most, if not all, Third Word folk who swear allegiance can't keep the citizenship of their native countries?

I wonder why that is?

Multiply and the United States and the Titanic have lots in common.

Kae B said...

Yeah, but guess who will get rescued from the sinking ship?

Thomas (Tom) Jefferson Thompson said...

sweep,.......sheesh!!!

Kae B said...

Oh! LOL! Okay.

Kurt Winston said...

Have to wait and see.

Kurt Winston said...

Have you parked anywhere else yet?

Kae B said...

Parked?

Kae B said...

Oh...you mean web page! LOL! Yes.

Kurt Winston said...

Where?

Kae B said...

Blogger, WordPress, Writers Cafe, Tumblr, Weebly (just opened -- it's not as user-friendly as they claim), and anotherblogspot (but I have reservations about it). I've been on all but the last two for a while. they just don't have the socializing element that Multiply does, so I haven't used them as much.

Kurt Winston said...

Can't join blogger due to a registration error. Have not tried any of the others save anotherblogspot.com. . I guess if I want to talk to you, I'll have to join the other sites you have mentioned.Hopefully Kim will come through for us all.

Kae B said...

I had a hard time making my Blogger account when I first tried, too. Maybe wait awhile, and then try again.

Kurt Winston said...

by trying two user names when they sent out a validation email that went to spam under the first user name, I violated their TOS. Tried to write them without success.

Kae B said...

Don't you have more than one e-mail addy? And since you know what happened then, you'll look in Spam before you do anything next time. Or open a Google-e-mail account, just for that. That's what I did.

You should be able to connect your Blogger blog to me here, if you want to, as Google has made blogspot and blogger essentially the same web site now. However if I could have ripped that entire blog up into tiny pieces and stomped on it this morning I would have. lol.

I'm hoping I may come to love it in time. :/

I've never had a site attempt to validate via spam. All came into my mailbox. Finally I resorted to the "forgot my password option" They sent me a new password and told me my account had been validated. When I attempted to log in, I was told I was not validated. We went around in circles before I directed an email to them without response. So I have multiply for as long as it lasts and anotherblogspot as a temporary parking place. Hoping Kim can develop a new site like multiply. She has the ability. Will probably look at some of the places you parked while learning to use my own domain sites and linking to other sites. I do have another address at gmx.com
